The European Federation of Financial Analyst Societies (EFFAS) is putting in place the necessary framework to allow its candidates for the Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA®) to choose to do the next examination on 12th June 2020 online. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are all having to adapt quickly to the restrictions on our movements and to the new social distancing guidelines.
We have been working non-stop to offer our candidates alternative solutions. Candidates for the June exam session can now choose to do the exam from their home or office computer using an online proctoring system. Basically, to do the exam online candidates require a computer fitted with a camera, microphone, and speakers. By downloading an add-on to their internet browser that restricts opening programs, taking screenshots and monitors the candidate’s movements through the camera, the candidate gains access to the exam which they complete online. For those of you wondering how the examination will be invigilated the proctoring system uses AI and a live remote invigilator to pick up on any signs that a candidate is cheating.
The remote proctoring system is currently being adopted in many major European institutions and we see it as the best substitute for sitting the exam in a shared space while social distancing rules are in place.
