In the face of the crisis caused by COVID 19 the Financial Studies Foundation (Fundación de Estudios Financieros) launches “Solidarity Finance” within the general solidarity initiative in the business and financial field. The measures are:
- An extraordinary scholarship plan to encourage young people who may be in economic difficulties because of the crisis to continue their studies.
- To support institutions dedicated to alleviating the economic effects of the crisis, especially those derived from unemployment.
- To create a permanent observatory for monitoring, analysing and proposing actions to deal with the crisis..
The Foundation for Financial Studies (FEF), an institution linked to the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (IEAF), launched the initiative "Solidarity Finance", joining the general movement of solidarity that is developing in the business and financial field in the face of the many precarious situations that many fellow citizens are going through, and that are expected to worsen in the coming months.
The initiative has three lines of action:
Firstly, to promote through the FEF School, an extraordinary scholarship plan to encourage young people who may find themselves in economic difficulties because of the crisis to not lose the possibility of continuing to train properly and providing them with a greater opportunities to incorporate into a shrinking labour market. In short, a contribution so that young talent is not limited in their professional aspirations in the face of an adverse economic and family situation. The Foundation School will publish the qualifying criteria on its website https://www.ieaf.es/ shortly.
Secondly, another of the objectives of this initiative is to develop an analysis of the private and public organizations that are currently carrying out tasks aimed at helping families to alleviate the economic effects of the crisis, especially those derived from unemployment, with a view to the possibility of implementing a set of direct donations to them.
And finally, the FEF proposes the creation, operational development and financing of a permanent Observatory for monitoring, analysing and proposing actions to combat economic, financial or natural crises. The Observatory is to be under the direction and advice of the IEAF Joint Advisory Council- FEF and open to the best Spanish and international professionals and academics who can contribute to it in the different disciplines of an economic, financial, legal or scientific research field.
The Fundación de Estudios Financieros (FEF) has carried out outstanding work in studies on the economy and finance for almost 30 years, in addition to performing a proven role in the training and certification of our professionals and the promotion of education and especially economic and financial research, both academically and in professional practice.
