The TQC Review Panel is part of the of EFFAS standing commission on Training and Qualification with the ultimate task of EFFAS Diploma Designations quality control. Since its foundation in 1990 - as Commission on Training and Qualifications Accreditation Board - the Review Panel is composed of outstanding personalities of the academic world with wide experience in their fields, who have contributed to make EFFAS the standard setter and referent for high level qualifications in the investment profession.
Since October 2018 the Review Panel has 5 regular members Dr. Jesús López Zaballos EFFAS Chairman and Prof. Dr. Petra Kalfmann Professor at Corvinus University of Budapest from HCMPS Hungary as well as three recently appointed members: Prof. Dr.Doni Associate Professor at the University of Milano-Bicocca from AIAF Italy, Prof. Dr.Gialdini Associate Professor at Aix Marseille Université and Dr.Porteu de la Morandière Researcher & Lecturer at the ESC Pau Business School, both from SFAF France.
The Federation is honoured with the acceptance of these 3 Honorary Positions and is strongly convinced that with their outstanding profile, expertise and knowledge in the world of academics and research, the new appointed members possess all necessary competences and qualities to guard the EFFAS qualifications and maintain their quality.
Review Panel Members Bios
Dr. Jesus López Zaballos (IEAF, Spain)
Dr. Jesus López Zaballos took on his first professional role as a broker in the Spanish Money Market in 1984. He has worked as an expert in the Capital Market Industry, for several important private and public financial institutions, where he held a variety of responsibilities in different fields. He was Head of Domestic Treasury of the Banco de Crédito Industrial in 1991 and he was Head of Training of the Treasury and Capital Markets areas of Argentaria (1995-1998). In 1999, having obtained the PHD in Finance, Dr. Zaballos left his job as a Bank Executive Manager to create "Formación y Finanzas, SL", a Business Consulting and Financial Advisory firm specialised in advisor and training activities for the Financial Industry. At present he is the chairman of the company. In 2002, he joined the Instituto Español de AnalistasFinancieros (IEAF) as General Manager of its Training School and continues there at present. Since 2006 he is also the Managing Director for International Affairs of the IEAF. He is the Director of the professional certification programs in Spain: CIIA, CEFA, Back Office Manager, European Financial Advisor and Asset Manager and Treasury Manager given by IEAF. in 2013 he was founding partner of Aureo Wealth Advice EAFI, S.L, a wealth manager company registered in the Spanish regulator. In 2014 he has been appointed member of the Advisory Board of Docout, a specialized company in the outsourcing services, in business processes, records management and consulting, with high technological tools. On January 1st, 2018 Dr. López Zaballos was appointed Member of the Board & Chairman of the Audit Committee in MAPFRE Inversiones Sociedad de Valores, SA. Dr. López Zaballos is the EFFAS Chairman as well as Board member of ACIIA, ILPIP, EFFAS, GIPS and IATEC Spain. He was a member of the Financial Markets Commission of the Economist Association of Madrid between 2004 and 2008 and Chairman of the Training and Qualification Committee of EFFAS from 2005 to 2008. PhD in Management & Business Administration at San Pablo CEU University, Madrid (1999), summa cum laude, and Degree in Economics & Business Administration at Complutense University, Madrid (1985). He also has a Diploma in General Management (PDG) from IESE (1997). Since 1990 he is a usual Lecturer and Visiting Professor in Seminars and specialized courses in several Universities and Business Schools.
Prof. Dr. Petra Kalfmann (HCMPS, Hungary)
In the last 15 years, Petra has been deeply involved in all aspects of banking, from risk management to sales management. At the same time, she was also continuously involved in different training programmes on investment management and capital markets in Corvinus University of Budapest and also as lecturer and in Bankárképző (training company of CEFA programme Hungary) as trainer in CEFA programme. She is active in the HCMPS Board since 2007 and since 2018 responsible for the CEFA training programme as programme director. As member of the presidency she feels committed to distribute the CEFA programme in Hungary and support the new president to renew the operation of the NMS. Petra has continuously built up her academic background and reached her PhD degree in 2017.
Prof. Federica Doni, PhD (AIAF, Italy)
She is PhD, Associate Professor in Business Administration at the Department of Business and Law, University of Milano-Bicocca. She teaches Financial Accounting and Business Analysis, Business Administration and Fiscal and Business Planning and Consultancy. Her main research interests include International Accounting, Intangibles and Intellectual Capital, Integrated and Sustainability Reporting, Corporate Governance, Accounting History, Business Valuation. She attends as a speaker at many international conferences, such as EIASM workshops and the annual EAA congress. Member of the Italian Association of Financial Analysts and Consultants (AIAF), British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA, UK), European Accounting Association (EAA), EURAM (European Academy of Management), the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR, University of St. Andrews, UK), Academic Network (IIRC, London, UK) and PRI Academic Network (London, UK).
Prof. Dr. Laurence Gialdini (SFAF, France)
Dr. Laurence Gialdini is a permanent Associate Professor of Finance at Aix Marseille Université AMU - FEG, Head of MA Finance and University post-graduated specialty program in Wealth and Asset Management, Co-Head of Bachelor program in Auditing and Finance and Scientific member of CERGAM. She holds a PhD in Finance and Management from UPMF-CERAG Grenoble (2012, UMR CNRS 5820), two Master’s degree in Finance and Strategy from EM Lyon and IAE Lyon 3 (2005, 1993). She graduated from IEP Grenoble in Political Science specialized in Economy and Finance (1992). She was formerly Scientific Director of the MSc Corporate Financial Management in SKEMA BS and co-head of the Finance Department at ESDES-UCLy where she created a Master in « Finance and Markets » and the « Financing Small Mid-Caps » Chair. Prior to her career in education, she also has a 14 years experience in European cash equity markets and worked for companies such as Baring, Caisse Des Dépôts et Consignations, BNP Paribas. She is a member of the French Society in Financial Analysis (SFAF) and co-founder of LeDoTank, living lab on small-mid caps in Europe. Her research is dedicated to Finance-as-Practice focusing on Intermediation, Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility, Ethics, SME’s financing.
Dr. Laurence Porteu de la Morandière
After obtaining her Master in Finance degree from Paris Dauphine University, Dr. Laurence Porteu de la Morandière began her carrier in 1990 in the Financial Analysis business as a sell-side analyst for SG Warburg Securities in Paris for 3 years and as a buy-side analyst at Deutsche Asset Management France (former Gestion Privée Worms) for 10 years. She specialized in medium and small-sized European companies. She started teaching in business schools in 2005 on the subject of Corporate Finance (Skema Business School, Novancia). At the same time, she began teaching at the ESC Pau Business school on the topic of Financial Management, asset valuation, portfolio management.
Appointed as a permanent faculty at ESC Pau Business school from 2006, she obtained her PhD (Doctoraten Sciences de Gestion) from Paris Dauphine University in 2012 on Financial Analyst rankings. Member of the SFAF since 1992, she is the school referent for the Certification AMF exam. After having managed different academic semesters at ESC Pau Business School, she has been appointed Head of Programs and International in 2016. Thanks to this new responsibility she has been involved in the school team that prepared reports and participated to the different accreditation audits at the ESC Pau Business School (EFMD – EPAS in 2014 and 2017).
