The 2015 EFFAS Annual General Meeting was held on Friday June 26 in Vienna, upon kind invitation of the Austrian society ÖVFA(Österreichische Vereinigung für Finanzanalyse und Asset Management), preceded by a wonderful gala dinner held in the magnificent premises of the Schönbrunn castle.
During this year's AGM, the EFFAS Board, delegates of Commissions and representatives of more than 15 countries members of EFFAS gathered to discuss about some important topics for our Federation, among them the EFFAS Commissions and delegates activities' reports, EFFAS Board elections, the financial situation of EFFAS and its tax treatment, EFFAS new projects and the ratifications by the AGM of several decisions undertaken by the EFFAS Board during the year.
The reports of the Commissions and delegates activities for 2014/2015 can be found entirely per written into the Annual Business Report at the bottom of this page.
About the EFFAS Board election, only the terms of office of the EMC Member Friedrich Mostboeck (ÖVFA) came to an end this year. To ensure a fair process in nominating candidates for the EMC positions, and according to the new EFFAS Charter (approved by the NMS in April 2014), all members' societies were kindly asked by the chairman on May 4th to send their proposals for the nominations before May 18th, 2015. Upon the termination of such period, only the candidacy coming from Mr. Fritz Mostboeck was submitted. Mr. Mostboeck was therefore unanimously re-elected EMC Member.
Regarding the EFFAS new projects, the European Working Papers, coordinated by the EMC Member Raul Marques, was discussed among the attendees who provided recommendations and opinions on its intial presentation before the launch of said project. The EMC have taken into account the advices received and will work on the layout and content of the project before its beginning. Other projects such as the EFFAS job offer Platform and EFFAS Examinations Platform - which are still at a starting point - have also been intruduced to the EFFAS Members present at the meeting and the Board shall continue working on both these topics to achieve their completion in a near future.
Finally, several ratifications by the AGM took place that day, which were the following:
- Composition of the EFFAS Arbitration Board
- CEFA accreditations of EFFAS Members' programs
- EFFAS Scholarships & Grants 2014/2015
- Finance 2014
- Appointment of Auditor for 2015
Thanks to the valuable discussions occurring during said meeting, the EFFAS AGM 2015 was a great success. Our Federation would like to thank all the participants to the EFFAS AGM for coming to Vienna and bringing their inputs to the several topics discussed that day and the EFFAS NMS Chairmen and representatives for their continuous support to our management.
