It is EFFAS great pleasure to inform that Mr. Frank Klein, Member of the EFFAS Board, has been appointed this week to the Council of the IIRC (International Integrated Reporting Council), representing EFFAS. This nomination will strengthen EFFAS position as a think tank in the European community and enhance our federation’s visibility for further projects.
The IIRC is a global coalition of regulators, investors, companies, standard setters, accounting professionals and NGOs. Together, this coalition shares the view that communication about value creation should be the next step in the evolution of corporate reporting, joining EFFAS’s idea that integrated reporting is playing a vital role in the future global ESG activities.
Read more: The IIRC is chaired by Professor Mervyn King and Paul Druckman is Chief Executive Officer. The Council’s role, as a forum for senior representatives of the IIRC’s member organizations, is to:
- ·Advise on the IIRC’s mission, role and governance practices.
- ·Provide thought leadership, intellectual contribution and strategic insights relating to IIRC initiatives and activities.
- ·Lend weight and credibility to the IIRC’s profile.
The IIRC is the global authority on <IR>. Its mission is clear: to enable Integrated Reporting to be embedded into mainstream business practice in the public and private sectors. <IR> is a process founded on integrated thinking that results in a periodic integrated report by an organization about value creation over time and related communications regarding aspects of value creation.
The next meeting of the Council takes place in London on 28 May 2015, where Mr. Klein will be officially introduced to the IIRC Council Members.
