The Institute for Development Planning (IPD), a scientific-technological non-profit organisation, belongs to the National Registry of the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico (CONACYT) and has 34-years of experience in applied research and technological development on issues related to the structural problems of underdeveloped market-economies. The most prominent research topics are those focused on poverty reduction. These projects fight against food poverty -- suffered by 25 million Mexicans--, by allowing physical and economic recovery of the enormous (29 million tons as of 2018) food losses throughout the food value chain through both new infrastructure and technological developments.

The Consejo Consultivo de Finanzas Verdes (in English, the Green Finance Advisory Board) is a private sector initiative supported by Mexican financial institutions. The CCFV is focused on tackling Mexico’s vulnerability to the impacts of climate change, providing capacity building and on demand content to the financial sector. The CCFV represents more than 300 organizations and was established in 2016 in response to the growing need to transform the Mexican financial system increasing the level of climate change awareness, social responsibility, and a long-term vision.

During the last 4 years, the organization has worked in the development of a national sustainable taxonomy, improving environmental information disclosure of listed stocks, identifying sustainable infrastructure projects, working with companies to engage in decarbonization roadmaps and launching the Institute for Sustainable Finance. To achieve this goal, the CCFV has partnered with the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI), the Green Finance Initiative (GFI), and the British Government while also collaborating closely with the Mexican Central Bank. The CCFV was incorporated to the International Financial Centre Network for Sustainability (FC4S) in July 2019 in its quest to make Mexico the Latin American centre of green finance. The CCFV is the 28th member of the group created by the United Nations Programme for the Environment (UN Environment Programme) - promoting the mobilization of capital towards green investments.
