DVFA: Society of Investment Professionals in Germany
DVFA is the Society of Investment Professionals in Germany, founded in 1960. Currently, DVFA has more than 1,100 individual members representing over 400 investment firms, banks, asset managers, consultants and counselling businesses.
DVFA is a standard-setter in the capital market and helps create mutual trust between issuers and investors. DVFA offers a wide range of services within its core competencies:
Qualification and Communication:
- Network of investment professionals
- Leading qualifier for the capital market in Germany with more than 1,700 CEFA®/CIIA® graduates and more than 3,000 graduates altogether
- Global post-graduate qualification program CEFA® Certified EFFAS Financial Analyst and CIIA® Certified International Investment Analyst
- Qualification program CCrA® on Rating/Basel II
- Leading platform for financial communication
- Direct communication with the regulatory authorities and other organizations whose actions may have an effect on the investment industry, and therefore on DVFA's members
- Commissions and working groups dealing with current issues of the capital market
International Quality Standards:
- As a professional organisation for capital markets experts, setting best practice standards for procedures and conduct is top on DVFA's agenda. In the past, DVFA has established well-renowned standards, such as: Rating Standards for bonds and credit risk, Standards for Earnings-per-Share reporting, Performance Presentation Standards® for investment managers and the Scorecard for German Corporate Governance®
Integrity and Self-Regulation:
- In 2003 DVFA launched the DVFA Code, a code of professional conduct for all investment professionals who analyse or evaluate investment or credit risks
- Self-regulatory mechanisms: permanent disciplinary and arbitral tribunals
DVFA's services and programs assist its members in complying with a high standard of professional excellence in day-to-day business.
